

Principal Jones oversees the overall operation of DRMS. She ensures that all programs in the school are responsive to the developmental needs of the students. She ensures that the school is student centered and that all personnel are participating in ongoing professional development to ensure academic growth of both student and staff. She accomplishes this through working with the school community in a democratic manner to ensure continuous school improvement.
Assistant Principal Smith oversees disciplinary issues within the school. He provides assistance and support to the principal and the school community in ensuring continual school improvement in a developmentally responsive manner to the student population.
Athletic Director/ Coach Ackley oversees both interdisciplinary and intramural athletic activities. He provides developmentally appropriate physical activities for young adolescents. The athletic director oversees the training of sports coaches, to ensure a safe and suitable activities for all students.
Guidance Counselors: Our guidance counselors, Mrs. Allen, Mr. Phipps, Ms. Jones & Mr. Hall provide support and guidance to the students by providing them with help to identify and overcome personal challenges that might be causing academic or behavioral problems. They work with and oversee our advisory teams in to help them build affiliation with their students.
School Nurse: We are committed to providing a healthy environment for our students. Our school nurse, Mrs. Phillips, provides appropriate care for injured/sick students as well as oversees our health initiative programs. The school nurse also coordinates the school’s response to the health needs of the students by working with parents and guardians.
Media Specialist: The use of technology is becoming more prominent in the classrooms of today. It is important for our students to know how to use computers for research and higher order learning. Our media specialist assist our students and teachers in all technology related matters that are needed in the classroom.
Office Support Staff: Our office support staff provide administrative support to the school community.
Resource Officer: It is our responsibility to provide a safe environment for our students and staff to implement our mission. It is the responsibility of our resource officer to oversee this effort.
ESL Teacher: It is the responsibility of the ESL teacher to provide assistance to the students, and parents of those students whose first language is not English. The ESL teacher will be available for school conferences and functions to assist on any language issues that might arise.
AIG Specialist: We are committed to providing support to our Academically Gifted students. Our AIG specialist specializes in instruction for academically gifted students. The AIG specialist works with core curriculum teachers to provide challenging academic activities for this group of students as well as pull out instruction for some AIG students.
Special Education Teachers: Our Special Education Teachers, Mr. Metz, Mr. Garcia, Ms. Bass & Mrs. Scott specialize in exceptional learners with identified ability impairments. These teachers provide in class assistance (inclusion) as well as provide exceptional classrooms (self-contained) for severe and profound students. The members of our special education faculty serve as interpreter for hearing and speech impaired students and parents.
Community Liaison: Dr. Jordan works to connect parents, businesses, and other community members in meaningful ways to DRMS. She coordinates festivals and Block Parties where the community is invited to come on campus, celebrate one another, and enjoy our beautiful surroundings. She coordinates a Diversity Fair, a one-day event that promotes knowledge, respect, and inclusion of diverse backgrounds. She works with parents to match them with volunteer opportunities within school, including clubs, sports, and special learning opportunities.
